Building Homes with Hemp A Journey of Family, Heart, and Sustainability
Recently, HempThai had the wonderful opportunity to participate in Krabi Rewind, an event set amidst the stunning natural beauty of Krabi. This wasn’t just a gathering for environmentalists; it was a dedicated space to "Rewind" back to nature and rediscover how to coexist with our planet in the most sustainable way.
For us at HempThai, this mission is our heartbeat. Our roots are deeply intertwined with the traditional wisdom of indigenous and ethnic communities. By participating in this event, we aimed to translate those ancestral values into a tangible, hands-on experience.
Highlight Activity The "Hempcrete Workshop" Anyone Can Build a Home
At the heart of our participation was the Hempcrete Workshop. Hempcrete is a 100% natural building material centered around the concept of "Self-Reliance." The most inspiring sight was seeing entire families—fathers, mothers, and children—working together to mix and mold hemp blocks with their own hands. We wanted to prove that creating an eco-friendly home isn’t a distant dream or a task reserved only for professionals. It is a simple, accessible activity that every member of the family can contribute to.
Why Hempcrete? (More Than a House, It’s a Breath of Fresh Air)
Beyond teaching people how to create the material, we shared the story of this "Material of the Future" that HempThai has been researching and developing
100% Chemical-Free Completely safe for children and families, from the very first step of construction.
Carbon Sequestration It actively absorbs CO2 from the atmosphere and stores it within the material.
A "Breathable" Home It offers exceptional resistance to mold, dust, and humidity—making it the perfect solution for our tropical climate.
The Identity of HempThai From Ancestral Wisdom to Social Art Craft
Our journey at Krabi Rewind is a chapter of a much larger mission. HempThai is not a business built for short-term margins; we are a Social Art Craft Enterprise. We operate at the intersection of
Traditional Wisdom The craftsmanship of indigenous communities skilled in hemp cultivation and weaving.
Contemporary Innovation Research focused on material structure and durability.
Sustainability A collaborative system where communities are treated as partners, not just suppliers.
We have consciously chosen to step away from the CBD and medical trends. Instead, we are dedicated to Structure, Fiber, and Durability. We aim to demonstrate that traditional craft and natural innovation can be scalable and thrive alongside the modern world.
Krabi Rewind served as a powerful reminder that "true sustainability begins with simplicity." Seeing the joy in children’s eyes as they molded Hempcrete gives us the confidence that hemp will be a vital material in passing on a livable, healthy world to the next generation.
